Monsoon · June – September
Nine out of ten monsoon shock incidents in Indian homes come from three sources.
Below rates are Solve24 electrician labour. Materials (RCCB hardware, socket, cable) are separate.
| Job | Cost 2026 (₹) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Electrician visit / diagnosis | 100 – 300 | Adjusted into bill |
| Earthing test + repair | 300 – 1,000 | Continuity + resistance |
| RCCB fitting in main panel | 400 – 1,000 | Hardware separate |
| MCB tripping fix | 300 – 800 | Root-cause diagnosis |
| Switchboard replacement (6-pt) | 400 – 1,000 | Plus materials |
| New AC / geyser point (15A) | 800 – 2,000 | Per point |
| Loose wire re-termination | 150 – 400 | Per switch |
| Full home wiring safety audit | 600 – 1,500 | Larger homes |
Do not wait. If any of these show up, book the same day. Turn off the MCB in the meantime.
These are one-visit fixes that a Solve24 electrician can wrap up in 2–3 hours and cost under ₹3,000 combined.
If a wall becomes visibly wet during rain and it has switchboards or wiring behind it, do this in order.
Every electrician on Solve24 lists directly — no platform commission on the job. See real reviews, agree the rate on WhatsApp, and pay them directly.
₹300–₹800 for a diagnostic visit including earthing test. Full audit for a larger home is ₹600–₹1,500. RCCB fitting labour is ₹400–₹1,000; hardware costs ₹800–₹3,000 depending on rating.
MCB trips on overload or short-circuit. ELCB is older tech and trips on voltage. RCCB (residual current) trips on earth leakage — the case where you would otherwise get a shock. Modern homes should have both MCB and RCCB.
Not if the geyser is properly earthed, plugged into a 15A socket on a dedicated MCB, and no water is on the electrical connection. If in doubt, turn it off at the MCB — do not just turn off the switch.
Almost always earth leakage — moisture in the wiring finds a path to earth and trips the RCCB or MCB. Book an electrician; the fix is usually finding the wet section and drying or replacing that stretch of wire.
Only after switching off the MCB and confirming with a tester that the socket is dead. Even then, replace the switch or socket like-for-like. Do not rewire — call a Solve24 electrician for ₹150–₹400.
