Under-sized inverter/battery is the #1 complaint in June. The rule: sum the wattage of what you actually want to run for 3–4 hours during a cut, then multiply by 1.3 for headroom.

A window or 1-ton split AC can run on a 3.5 kVA inverter with a 200 Ah battery bank for 30–45 minutes only. Not economical — a small petrol/diesel generator is cheaper for AC backup.
